Clinton County: There are still plenty of trout in the approved trout waters of the county. However the streams are very clear and running extremely low from the lack of rain in August.
The West Branch Susquehanna River is unfloatable for the most part above Lock Haven from similar low flow conditions. The good news is that catches of nice size smallmouth bass have been reported throughout the range of the river in the county included the sometimes acidic upstream areas from Lock Haven to Sinnemahoning. Several nice bass in excess of 13 inches were even reported to be caught in Renovo which is an outstanding improvement for the river from prior years.
